Properties:
A broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that compliments current trends for
natural cosmetics and peptide technology. Leucidal Liquid PT is a
fermentation product of Lactobacillus in the presence of undecylenic
acid, derived from castor oil (a sustainable vegetable resource). During
fermentation, the pH and oxygen levels are manipulated to stress the Lactobacillus
culture, inducing the production of beneficial secondary metabolites. The
result is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial product with probiotic skin
conditioning properties. The biotransformation of undecylenic acid by the Lactobacillus
generates water-soluble undecylenates which enhance the anti-fungal
activity of the product while providing surface treatment benefits. As a
result, this product is ideal for incorporation into a wide range of color
cosmetics, emulsion systems and aqueous products.
